Well, I just got back home from Houston, Texas where the weather
was wet and dreary! I attended a life-impacting retreat for
World Vision Artist Associates. As a native of southern California,
cold temperatures are quite the experience but I can deal with
change as long as the sun peeks through the clouds every once
in a while. It messes with routine and change is good. I am
deeply moved by the heart of World Vision. The people involved
with this organization are real life heroes in my book. I am
honored to be a part of changing this world one child, one
community and one village at a time. I met some cool peeps
from all over the country and in parts of Canada (yes, our
home and native land…sing along…) who encouraged
and inspired me to continue walking this road of ministry.
We all have a craft of some sort---something that makes us
unique and special. If we refuse to intentionally use that
craft, we reject our sole purpose of existence.
As I was sitting in the plane overlooking
the “City of
Angels” I began to feel a sense of urgency---the prompting
to move and move quickly. The act wasn’t about advancing
in this music industry or achieving a certain level of status
or prestige. Rather, it was a call to simply love people. It’s
true…as the famous Beatles song states, “All you
need is love”. I want to show that love in a way that is
fresh and sincere. Don’t you? Thanks World Vision….thanks
for giving me the fuel to passion to never give up on this world
and most importantly to LOVE this world.
